Plain wedding rings with a code beginning PWR are available as samples. Most engagement rings (ENG) and shaped wedding rings (SHW) are also available - when browsing the product pages you will see the option to order a sample if it is available. We also have samples of a few decorative matching wedding rings, those with codes beginning WDP.
If the option is not showing for the ring you are thinking of buying, you can still order a sample of a plain band to be sure that the final ring will fit and be comfortable. Simply take a note of the width, depth and profile of the ring you like, and order a sample of the corresponding plain band.
Choose from the three types of ring on the left-hand menu (wedding ring, engagement ring or shaped wedding ring). You'll see a bit more specific information on the type of rings you're looking for, and a link to the relevant pages to start browsing. Once you've found a ring you like, select the metal and finger size and the option to order the sample will appear on the page.
You can choose up to ten samples, and the cost of the service depends on the kind of ring you're ordering. You will pay £13 to cover the postage (Special Delivery) costs both ways.
If you have read these pages and have any questions to ask before ordering, please get in touch using our contact form.
Samples are usually dispatched within five working days, via Royal Mail Special Delivery which is a next day service. The delivery needs a signature so we'll let you know via email when they are dispatched. At busy times of year, it may take up to two weeks to dispatch your samples.
If you need your samples quickly, please add a note at checkout to let us know of the urgency. We will then contact you if we think it will take more than a few days to dispatch the samples.
The samples must be returned to us within one week. Simply package them in the pre-paid envelope and take this to the Post Office, who will give you a receipt with the tracking number. Please keep hold of this until we've emailed confirmation that we've got them back.
It will not usually be a problem for you to keep the rings for more than a week - we know people often need time to make the right decision - we just ask that you let us know. Failure to return the samples may result in a county court judgement for the full value of the silver rings.
We can send samples to other EU countries by prior arrangement only. You may be charged a little more for postage, and will need to send the rings back via an appropriate insured and track-able postal service. Please contact form if you would like to find out more. Samples ordered in EU sizes may be converted and sent to you in UK sizes (you can then also order in UK sizes).
Simply log onto the customer portal, where details of each sample will be listed. Click on the one you've chosen, and you'll be offered the chance to make small changes to the order before making payment. Ordering through the customer portal links is also the way to ensure you benefit from the price freeze. Don't forget to enter your discount code at checkout when ordering your real ring(s).
To get the most from the sample service, you need to have some idea of your ring size. We offer a free ring gauge service - just fill in the form and you'll receive the gauge in the post within a few days. Once you've got this, you can place your sample order. If the ring you're thinking of buying is very different in size/shape to the ring gauge, or if you've been given a size by another jeweller, we advise you to try on samples in a few different sizes.
